The Role Responsibilities
Risk Limits Monitoring
The key responsibility for the role is to manage a small team in handling the Bank's Risk Monitoring processes for SCBHK on a consolidated basis, which includes: o Large Exposure (Part 7 of the Banking (Exposure Limits) Rules) o Connected Lending (Part 8 of the Banking (Exposure Limits) Rules) o Equity Exposure (Part 2 of the Banking (Exposure Limits) Rules)
The role holder is also expected to: o implement new initiatives, system automation in streamlining the existing processes o management of the potential operational risk in the risk monitoring process o take charge in respective consultation in the changes of relevant laws and regulations in the area including but not limited to the Banking Ordiance, Banking (Exposure Limits) Rules, HKMA Supervisory Policy Manual
Support the risk function in handling of HKMA questions and examination as appropriate
Consolidating the communication by the Risk Function with the HKMA
Coordination of any regulatory exercise which affects all Risk Functions of the Bank
Country Risk Management
The role holder will be supporting the Regional Chief Risk Officer in the management of Country Risk for SCBHK on a consolidated basis. This included: o management of Country Cross Border Risk and the related processes in setting limits to individual countries o management of Soverign Risk.
The role holder has second line of defense responsibility in the management of Country Risk

Ability to manage multiple tasks successfully and efficiently in a fast paced, regulatory driven environment.
Educated to degree level
Solid experience in Banking industry;
Demonstrate knowledge and understanding in regulatory requirement such as those outlined in the HKMA's Supervisory Policy Manual, Banking Ordiance and Banking (Exposure Limit) Rules
Prior experience in Finance/Risk/Compliance/Audit/Governance
Understanding of financial reporting systems, legal entities, and/or role of regulatory authorities
