Department Profile Global Financial Crimes (GFC) coordinates day-to-day implementation of the Firm's enterprise-wide financial crime prevention efforts. GFC includes several legal and compliance disciplines and has responsibility for governance, oversight and execution of the Firm's Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Sanctions, Anti-Corruption and Government and Political Activities Compliance programs. GFC also develops and/or assists in the development of appropriate policies and procedures, including those designed to assist the business units to know their clients and conduct appropriate due diligence and to prevent, detect and report potentially suspicious activity. GFC has dedicated coverage managers and teams of analysts who advise and counsel each business unit regarding its AML, economic sanctions and anti-corruption obligations and its particular clients and transactions. Background on the Team The GFC Strategy Group is responsible for leading the strategic project agenda for the GFC program. Additionally the function is responsible for delivering consistent and effective deployment of transformational initiatives through project management and UAT oversight activities. Primary Responsibilities The individual will be required to: - Responsible for managing the GFC project list including the accuracy of initial entry and ongoing updates as well as recommending prioritization - Coordinate and prepare materials for re-occurring status meetings with global stakeholders to review project statuses and potential risks - Create GFC program status reporting for GFC Senior Management, Technology, regulators, etc. - Support the annual prioritization and budget process - Ensure GFC Strategy team is appropriately allocated to GFC projects - Manage project documentation and retention for all GFC projects - Drive consistency in the execution of GFC projects (e.g., project plans, requirements, status updates) and according to project management best practices - Represent the GFC Strategy team in status update meetings with senior management and other stakeholders - Serve as point of contact for Regional GFC teams to help coordinate regional initiatives - Track GFC projects from start to finish, from development to post production reviews through coordination with other members of the GFC Strategy Group, Technology, GFC Department, vendors / consultants, etc. - Communicate issues and present proposals to all levels of management - Prepare proposals to improve the GFC program to management - Identify project risks and defects and develop mitigation plans and workarounds as necessary - Develop project documentation including project plans, communications to impacted teams, procedure updates, training materials, etc. - Perform post implementation reviews to identify areas for improvement and implement identified recommendations into future projects
Skills Required Candidates must: - Have 4+ years of experience with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)/AML regulations within the financial services industry, at a financial services regulator (e.g., Federal Reserve, Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, Securities and Exchange Commission, Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, etc.), or at a consulting firm (PwC, Ernst & Yong, etc.) - Have a 4 year college degree with outstanding academic credentials - Maintain awareness of current legislative and regulatory requirements - Have an understanding of project management life cycle - Have a proven ability to lead and multitask including oversight of several special projects and change initiatives related to GFC process enhancements - Have proven experience developing partnerships with and successfully coordinating across various Legal, Risk, Technology and Operations partners and stakeholders - Have excellent time management skills and ability to execute tasks within tight deadlines - Have strong attention to detail - Have highly effective communication skills, including excellent writing and presentation skills - Have excellent interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with colleagues both in-person and via conference calls - Have the ability to facilitate meetings among stakeholders with diverse points of view both in-person and via conference calls - Ability to research and resolve issues independently while working across teams to acquire information - Ability to attend after hours conference calls and meetings Skills Desired - Advanced knowledge and experience using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, strongly preferred - PMO certification - Be certified as an Anti-Money Laundering Specialist by ACAMS or equivalent AML certification/license
