Responsible for the daily activities of the Payroll Department including the supervision of all payroll staff.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise the Payroll Department staff in the processing of payroll for all CCHS and VNA employees.Duties include coordination of daily activities, review of work and payroll reports to ensure accuracy and adherence to government regulations, policies and deadlines.
Assist staff in problem resolution and the development of analytical skills.
Responsible for overseeing the training of new staff, cross-training of existing staff on new duties and unit testing performed by staff of all new policy changes.
Communicates and implements with staff policy and procedural changes as they occur.
Provides feedback to Manager for staff's quarterly check in.
Maintains the normal processing of the bi-weekly and off cycle payroll, managing 3rd party vendor accounts which includes management of external files, payroll batches, integrations and payroll adjustments.
Responsible for the maintenance of datasets for assignment of physical check numbers, review of PNC bank files and reprinting of W-2C forms.
Maintains complete knowledge of CCHS HR policies, (Paid Time off, FMLA, Attendance) and their impact on the processing of payroll.
Partners with Payroll Manager to coordinate meetings with organization leaders regarding the explanation of timekeeping policies or procedures as they relate to pay.
Assists the manager in the management of the capital and operating budgets.
Authorizes the ordering of supplies and equipment as deemed necessary.
Performs the duties and responsibilities of the Payroll Manager and/or Payroll Team Leader during their absence.
Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices.
Reports to manager in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.
Performs other related duties as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
High school graduate
Two to Four years of payroll experience
Two years of prior supervisory experience.
Strong attention to detail, a solid grasp of mathematics, excellent organizational and communication skills.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
