Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Mental Health Clinician III for the Child & Adolescent Services – South Brunswick School Based Program at Rutgers, University Behavioral Health Care.
The primary purpose of the Mental Health Clinician III position is to provide comprehensive mental health care and related services to children and adolescents in schools. Participates as a member of a team in providing patient care services, assists in the development of treatment plans, and assessments and treatments of children and adolescents (ages 13 – 18 years).
Provides individual, group, and family psychotherapy as clinically indicated to assigned clients, including children and adolescents (ages 13 – 18 years).
Involves students and/or family in developing achievable and understandable clinical treatment plans.
Assumes overall case management responsibilities for assigned clients, including coordination of treatment and liaison with community agencies, employers, and health care plans.
Advocates for appropriate resources for clients and families based on assessed needs.
Maintains effective, open communication with treatment team members to provide appropriate treatment for clients to ensure quality care.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Master's degree in a mental health discipline and licensure to practice as required by New Jersey state laws governing the discipline.
Applicants possessing a degree in Social Work must have an active New Jersey certification/licensure, as required by the State Board of Social Work.
Experience in recognizing the unique needs and behavior of adolescents (ages 13 – 18 years).
Must be available for flexible scheduling as position requires some evening hours.
Must be able to travel as needed to University Behavioral Health Care (UBHC) sites and other community based meetings.
