The Nebraska Attorney General’s Office seeks an attorney with at least two years of litigation experience to serve as an Assistant Attorney General in its Civil Litigation Division. The Civil Litigation Division carries out the Attorney General’s duty to appear and defend all civil actions in which the state is an interested party in Nebraska’s trial and appellate courts, including torts, contract claims, civil rights, administrative appeals, employment claims, inmate claims, and state insurance claims. The preferred candidate is an attorney with substantive experience in pre-trial litigation and at least some trial experience. The preferred candidate must demonstrate an ability to excel as part of a team of attorneys, possess a strong desire to be in the court room, and demonstrate an interest in government service.
Annual salary is $58,000 to $82,000, commensurate with experience. Full-time state benefits available.

REQUIRED: Graduation from an accredited law school in the top 50% of one’s class and at least two years of relevant litigation experience.
