Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Assistant Supervisor- Occupational Therapy BV.
In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for some aspects of the daily operations of an Occupational Therapy service (e.g., the Rehab, OT adult outpatient and Med- Surg).
Performs patient care duties including evaluation/treatment and documentation as indicated by the units needs and through guidance from supervisor/ OT director. Completes these duties with a high level of competence and skills
Maintains a professional appearance and demonstrates appropriate professionalism during job performance
Demonstrates the ability to individually and collaboratively make sound and timely decisions based upon positive principles. Able to communicate these decisions to the staff while informing them of the principles used to make such decisions
The ability to monitor and implement department procedures in the three services ( outpatient/Med- Surg and Rehabilitation) and policies with appropriate abilities for ascertaining staffs performance in regards to such policies. Able to implement appropriate corrective action for Noncompliance
Produces the necessary data and performs analysis of this data in regards to any objective patient care information that is requested by OT director. Able to summarize this information into a tangible format to assist management team in decision making
Performs staff evaluations in a timely and thorough format as directed by supervisor and OT director. Evaluation includes detailed narratives that outline strengths and areas of improvements.
Exhibits high levels of initiative in regards to OT program and staff Development
Is able to successfully facilitate professional relationships with management team members including immediate supervisor
Demonstrates the motivation and ability to learn and integrate successfully proven leadership qualities into their own leadership role and style
Performs other duties as assigned
Additional Position Specific Responsibilities: Needs to work on weekend on rotation
Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a Bachelors Degree in Occupational Therapy. New York State Occupational Therapy License. Active member. Preferred Qualifications:Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy/Related Field. NYSOTA Membership. 3-5 years of working experience with 1 year supervision.
Required Licenses: Occup Thrpst License-NYS
