Where the Chemistry Happens
The Workforce Development Specialist (WDS) is the primary point of contact between BASF McIntosh and our target market/demographics for our pipeline of hiring needs for production operators, e.g. students (middle school and high school), teachers, and parents. The WDS will build a robust network of educators, students, parents and state government agencies, promoting BASF production operator jobs and championing BASF as one of America's Best Employers.
Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
Formula for Success... Capitalizing on your relevant work experience in workforce development, employment services, recruiting, training and/or as an HR Generalist, you will:
Leverage your excellent people skills and ability to build sustainable relationships to conduct BASF job fairs, workshops, and orientation sessions to advertise and familiarize the following regarding BASF and its opportunities for operators:
Middle Schools via Science Fairs, Parent & Student sessions and Plant Tours
High Schools via Junior & Senior Career Days add Plant Tours
Community Colleges via Job Fairs and Registration and Orientation periods
Impart your knowledge and understanding of issues that affect people in the local job market while coordinating with Community Colleges and State Government Workforce Development for the successful collaboration on laying the groundwork for the selection of new hires
Capitalize on your ability to work effectively with a diverse group of participants, staff and communities administrating BASF community college scholarships and summer internships
Translate your complex problem- solving skills into successfully managing outcomes that involve multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations
Apply your ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals and technical procedures to round out your skills as a specialist in workforce development
