The Office of Information Technology (OIT) is seeking a manager for the project management team. The IT Project Management Manager is responsible for managing a team of skilled project managers and business analysts. This position is responsible the overall quality, execution, and performance of project management and business analysis activities, processes, standards, and practices. The IT project management team is responsible for intaking, analyzing, planning, executing, and monitoring IT projects as well as researching, documenting, presenting, and recommending solutions. This position also assists with the management and administration of the portfolios of governed IT projects as well as a number of internal IT process improvement initiatives.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Attracting, retaining, and cultivating high-performing project managers and business analysts.

Inspiring and empowering the team to continually improve their skills and practices.
Providing coaching and guidance on the full spectrum of project management and business analysis activities.
Developing internal competency around project management and business analysis.
Implementing processes and standards related to project management and business analysis activities and/or improving existing ones ensuring industry best practices are leveraged.
Creating and maintaining staffing plans to ensure the team is properly staffed to handle the workload.
Assisting management in assessing resource capacity and allocation needs across projects and services.
Tracking IT projects from initiation to completion and identifying and escalating critical issues to leadership as needed.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
5+ years project management experience AND an additional 3+ years progressive experience in one or more of the following areas: project management, business analysis, IT management, or product ownership.
1+ year experience in a supervisory or management position.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly communicate technology concepts to peers, executive level management, and non-IT teams.
Experience managing projects using Waterfall and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Experience creating processes, procedures, standards, or policies.
Must be detail oriented; highly organized and thorough.
Demonstrated ability to cultivate self-management skills in team members.
Excellent leadership skills resolving people-related issues, as well as difficult technical challenges.
Ability to think critically about processes and collaboratively improve them.
Experience with JIRA and MS Project.
PMP or PMI-PBA certification.
Broad knowledge of IT services and technologies.
Working knowledge of ITIL framework, processes, and concepts.
Self-starter who is comfortable under pressure with the ability to execute with limited information and ambiguity.
