Family Health Centers at NYU Langone, a designated Level 3 Medical Home, is the largest federally qualified health center network in New York State, and the second largest in the nation. Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Preventive Care Spec-Dental.
In this role, the successful candidate Provide high quality dental hygiene services to assigned patient panel. Coordinates the periodontal services of patients within the practice.
Assessment of oral health conditions, review of health history, oral cancer screening, head and neck inspection, dental charting, taking blood pressure and pulse
All clinical treatment associated with periodontal health (within scope of practice of RDH)
Taking and developing of dental radiographs
Apply preventive materials to teeth (sealants, fluorides,etc)
Develops and manages patient engagement services and programs that promotes oral health
Teaching patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health
Making impressions of patients teeth for study casts
Completes dental records clearly and accurately
Attends community events in an effort to increase patient panel
Provides case analysis to dentist to assist in the formulation of a comprehensive treatment plan
Maintains clinical recall system
Participates in quality improvement initiatives associated with Dental hygiene services
All other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a Associate Degree in Dental Hygiene 2+ years of direct patient care in an office setting with an assigned panel of patients NYS Dental Hygiene License, CPR certification.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
