J.P. Morgan Securities Services is a premier securities servicing provider that helps institutional investors, alternative asset managers, broker dealers and equity issuers optimize efficiency, mitigate risk and enhance revenue. Financial Reporting is part of Securities Services Operations and provides statutory financial statements services, taxable income distribution services and tax return and BAS services for clients. Clients include large trust fund managers and superannuation funds based in Australia as well as other locations.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Support the Head of Financial Reporting in overseeing the department with a number of direct reports and acting as the subject matter expert for accounting and tax related queries
Deliver on the strategic goals of the department in relation to technology, operating model and new product development
Timely and accurate delivery of financial and tax related reporting on a frequency determined by the service level agreement with the clients in their portfolio
Build and maintain effective partnerships with local operations, our offshore center of excellence, client services and ancillary team
Troubleshoot and resolve operations issues through research and engagement with the relevant teams
Promote intellectual curiosity, encouraging employees to take risks and accept failure to support innovation
To be successful, you will need:
Tertiary qualified in Accounting or a related discipline with CA / CPA qualifications
Minimum 10 years' experience in financial accounting/tax within financial and/or professional services sector plus 3 years in a senior management role
Solid experience in statutory reporting and applications of accounting standards in accordance with AASB & IFRS
Solid experience in Australian tax, specifically in relation to trust income distributions and trust tax returns
Effective planning and time management skills, with demonstrated initiative and proactive approach to managing dynamic workload and periodic overtime
Proven experience as a trusted client partner and advocate, ensuring strong strategic alignment and open communication
