In particular, this role is part of the FID Macro coverage team which oversees products in the interest rate, foreign exchange, and emerging market spaces as well as cross-asset trading strategies. Primary Responsibilities · Monitor real-time and end-of-day risks through the review of VaR, portfolio Greeks, liquidity profiles, Front Office risk system outputs, and limit monitoring amongst other things · Understand complex trades by reviewing trades/portfolios and interfacing with traders, desk quantitative analysts, the Model Review Group, and other control functions within the Firm · Maintain constant dialogue with trading desks and Front Office support groups regarding trading strategies, limit usage, and risk representation of new and/or exotic trades · Conduct ad hoc quantitative analyses on all Macro products and communicate complex issues to senior management and regulators in a clear and concise fashion · Assist in setting market risk limits that align with the Firm's risk appetite
Skills Required · High level of attention to detail · Project management and prioritization skills in order to balance daily and future deadlines · Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively with various audiences · Strong quantitative skills in order to facilitate data analysis · Proficiency in various technology tools/systems such as Excel, Bloomberg, SQL, etc. Skills Preferred · Prior knowledge of fixed income markets and derivative products will be viewed favorably, although a broader and deeper understanding can be developed through job experience · Although not compulsory, an advanced degree (i.e., Masters or PhD) is preferred Experience · A minimum of 2 - 4 years of work experience in the financial services industry (particularly risk management, sales and trading, or banking) · Quantitative academic background such as finance, economics, engineering, or accounting
