The Project Coordinator will support project managers with project planning and scheduling. The Project Coordinator will help coordinate the schedule and activities required for accomplishing various project types at Cooperative Energy. The Project Coordinator will work with a variety of project team members from various departments to capture all the necessary events and tasks in a project, and to coordinate the various logistics.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Work with the Director of Projects, Portfolio Managers and Project Managers to develop, maintain, control, and improve project scheduling practices and schedule templates to promote a consistent approach across departments and projects.
Work with Project Managers and other team members on schedule creation to ensure consistency with schedule governance and ensures project schedules accurately reflect the individual project scope of work, responsibilities, construction sequencing, outage requirements and project in-service dates.
Work closely with Portfolio Managers, Project Managers and Maintenance Planners to establish prioritization of work and assisting in the coordination of upcoming work that requires common resources and communicating potential conflicts.
Create and maintain master project schedules by incorporating schedules from other departments, vendors or third-parties to identify any interconnected activities that could impact the overall timing or sequencing of planned work.
Attend regular project team meetings to monitor project schedule progress and performance to track and report Project Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
Assist the Project Managers in identifying and mitigating critical path activities, resolving scheduling conflicts and developing schedule recovery plans after delays.
Support Management Team, Director of Projects and Portfolio Managers by forecasting future work and resource allocations to determining a clear picture of the Cooperative's overall resources needs.
Acting as the Department's scheduling Subject Matter Expert (SME), Responsible for supporting all Project Managers in the use of project scheduling software products and assist in their training.
Assist in auditing projects at closeout to ensure conformity to the Cooperative's established best practices for project management.
Bachelor's Degree Engineering General (ABET Accredited Institution) Or
Bachelor's Degree Construction Management Or
Bachelor's Degree Construction Engineering Technology (ABET Accredited Institution) Or
3 years Managing projects in an industrial or constructional environment. Required
7 years Managing projects in an industrial or constructional environment. In lieu of education requirements.
Certification & Licensures:
Successfully pass a security sensitive background screening. Required
Valid Mississippi Driver's License Required
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:
Strong project scheduling skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Projects is preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with individuals at varying levels within Cooperative Energy as well as outside contacts in a professional manner.
Ability to work under tight deadlines and balance multiple critical tasks.
Ability to diagnose and solve system problems while maintaining professionalism and courtesy.
Strong self-initiative to meet project deliverables and overcomes issues.
Ability to effectively organize, prioritize, plan, and stay on schedule to meet deadlines.
Ability to adapt quickly to changes in events, processes and priorities.
