Dwight School is seeking a full-time Librarian beginning in September 2019.
The daily responsibilities of the Librarian are to:
Design and manage the early childhood library for students in preschool and kindergarten, including providing literacy instruction to students, supporting faculty in book selections, and maintaining the lending library for parents.
Support the daily operation of the library for students in grades 6-12, including supervising students, circulating library resources, and providing reader’s advisory and research assistance
Assist faculty and students with the meaningful use of the school’s library, media, and technology resources
Develop and deliver internal library, media, and technology training
Model innovative technology use for other Dwight community members
The ideal candidate will meet the following qualifications:
Bachelor or Master Degree in Library Science preferred
Experience working with preschool and kindergarten students as well as middle and high school students
Teaching experience in one or more of the following disciplines: library, media, technology
Ability to contribute positively to the community with patience, warmth, and humor
