Under the supervision of the International Admissions Manager, the International Recruitment and Admissions Coordinator is a key player in the University of Missouri-St. Louis international enrollment efforts and the achievement of its international enrollment targets. The Coordinator is expected to demonstrate the ability to communicate in an engaging and enthusiastic manner the University of Missouri-St. Louis message to prospective applicants, their families and high school counselors, support prospective applicants with the initial stages of the application process, and represent the university in assigned international markets, either in person or online, as appropriate.
The Coordinator is a member of the International Admissions team within the Office of International Studies and Programs at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. The Office of ISP is the university nexus for international admissions, immigration services, connections, global engagement and impact, and currently serves a growing population of several hundred international students, as well as faculty members and staff.
Support the international admissions team with determining strategic approaches to international recruitment;
Travel domestically and internationally and represent the University at recruitment fairs, high school visits, recruitment agencies, and partner institutions in assigned territories overseas;
Respond to prospective student inquiries and guide them to application;
Maintain a network of international education agents and overseas contacts in order to increase student referrals;
Manage assigned recruitment agents to ensure maximum engagement with prospective applicants from their territories;
Coordinate mass mailings of recruitment and marketing materials;
Analyze data to determine marketing effectiveness and impact on applicant and enrollment objectives for targeted populations, and develop and utilizes various reports.
Compile and analyze statistical data for routine, periodic and ad hoc reports, and prepare regular recruitment activity reports, statistical analyses and enrollment projections.
Arrange meetings on campus for prospective students and international visitors, including recruitment agents;
Contribute to the development of recruitment materials, such as promotional flyers and University fact sheets;
Be familiar with regulations and procedures governing international students in the United States;
Perform other duties as assigned.
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
Ability to undertake international travel for extended periods of time.
Three or more years of experience in student recruiting, marketing or other highly interactive promotional field.
Ability to design and deliver effective presentations.
Proficiency in at least one foreign language.
Experience working with international students in a formal setting.
Experience working in a higher education setting.
Experience studying or living overseas.
Experience working with CRM systems, as well as data analysis software.
Ability to work effectively with people from a variety of cultures and backgrounds.
Capacity to work both independently and as a part of a team.
