The University of California, San Diego (UCSD) Innovative Mobile Hoarding Intervention Program (IMHIP) provides community-based services to adults over 60 with Hoarding Disorder. The program uses the Cognitive Rehabilitation and Exposure/Sorting Therapy (CREST) Community Program which includes a multidisciplinary team that provides biopsychosocial assessment, case review, family collaboration, cognitive training/exposure therapy, aftercare, and peer support.
Under the supervision of the Director, incumbent will work as a Research Assistant for the UCSD Cognitive Rehabilitation and Exposure/Sorting Therapy (CREST) program in the Department of Psychiatry, funded by the County of San Diego. The program provides services to older adults (60+) with Hoarding Disorder. Services include screening for substance abuse problems, biopsychosocial assessment, case review, psychoeducation for clients and families, linkage to community services, assessment of high risk behaviors, crisis intervention, CREST treatment, and coordination of services.
Staff will work closely as a team with other program staff, including peer recovery specialists. The incumbent duties include assisting the Director and program staff with day-to-day affairs of the CREST program as they relate to the management of recruitment, screening, messages, meetings, and coordination. Interact with PIs, Clinical Staff, community partners, and participants in guiding clinical protocols through regulatory approved processes, client accrual and coordination of clinical trial study activities. Other research related activities include meeting organization, preparation and attendance.
Theoretical knowledge of Psychiatry, Psychology and/or other mental health services in social science, with emphasis on Severe Mental Illness (SMI) and Obsessive Compulsive Disorders (OCD). Experience in Psychology or other related sciences.
Theoretical knowledge in a human service related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience and knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
General working knowledge of federal and non-federal agency requirements and regulations for sponsored research.
Proficiency in using database software, including Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.
Strong experience in independently providing quality review of data quality reports generated by the Biostatistics team and Electronic Data Capture (EDC) edits prepared by the Informatics team.
Proven ability to maintain documentation required by the university and/or government agency and knowledge of what is required.
Demonstrated experience in assisting with the Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions for identified clinical trial sites.
Strong ability to develop and implement clinical trials data based on the study's outcome measurements. Ability to understand and follow complex research protocols.
Experience in providing administration with necessary reports to assist in identifying and evaluating clinical trial study problems, including recommending changes and developing methods for implementation.
Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to communicate skillfully and interact positively with a variety of people.
Efficient organizational skills necessary to prioritize workload in order to meet deadlines.
Familiarity with university and government research programs.

Must possess a valid Ca driver's license, have a clean driving record for the past 7 years, and reliable transportation to work on a daily basis and meet clients at various community locations throughout the County to provide case management services.
