Overall Purpose of Job: To ensure compliance risk management of MUFG Bank (Europe) (hereafter MBE), the position is expected to support Chief Compliance Officer of MBE with a particular focus on governing MBE compliance organisation. In Compliance division of MBE head office, there are three teams, Financial Crime, and Core Compliance and Governance, Planning & Reporting. This position is in the Governance, Planning & Reporting team. The team is expected to make sure reporting from the other teams and branches in MBE to CCO is taking place, to ensure compliance governance as MBE.
The team has responsible for: secretary of Compliance Committee, management information (MI) for CCO and the Management Board, regulatory reporting within the remit of the CCO responsibility, direction from EMEA headquarters and/or Global headquarters, supporting compliance functions in MBE branches, budget management of MBE compliance and the other items as instructed by CCO, in relation to governance of MBE compliance. Essential Functions:
As an Assistant Vice President in Governance, Planning & Reporting MBE, you work in a team that contributes to the effective performance of the compliance framework. Your responsibilities and accountabilities include, but are not limited to, implementing the programme in a "business as usual" environment to mitigate the compliance risks.
In summary, this role requires:
Supporting the drive for compliance with MUFG's global policies;
AVP to coordinate and support the planning, budgeting and MBE wide Compliance management information.
Support and secretary to the Compliance Committee.
Coordination of incoming projects/change activities;
Group communication support for branches and head office teams;
Organise and drive the planning & budgeting cycle;
Organise and drive Compliance wide MI reporting (alleviating branch Compliance Officers);
This function compiles information from Core Compliance and Financial Crime to integrate for the CCO and the Management Board.
Issues will be escalated to GPR when they exceed the boundaries of Core Compliance and Financial Crime or when group communications is needed.
The tasks described above, apply to the business of the MBE head office and its branches.
A University level degree, or other higher learning to a similar standard, is preferred.
Work Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in a relevant area
Functional/Technical Skills and Knowledge requirements:
The ability and confidence to effectively question CCO and other senior colleagues within the division, listening, challenging and applying judgement to responses.
Proven ability to work both independently and as a strong team player.
Strong time management skills with an ability to prioritise and deal with conflicting demands .
Ability to handle sensitive/confidential information appropriately
Verbal and written communication skills in English are essential, and in Dutch are preferred.
Previous Compliance, Risk, Audit or testing function experience is preferred.
