Germanna Community College is seeking applications for the position of Financial Aid Advisor. This position is primarily responsible for comprehensive advising and support to students and staff, processing of files, coordinating the Germanna Foundation scholarship program (in conjunction with Germanna Education Foundation) and external scholarship program, and supporting the Military and Veteran Services Center. The position will assist students, families, and staff in all aspects of applying for financial aid, submitting documentation, presenting to on and off campus groups, and assisting with military and veteran benefit certification. Individual must possess a keen attention to detail while staying current on knowledge of federal, state and institutional financial aid and Veterans Affairs policies and regulations. The successful candidate is expected to be familiar with PeopleSoft system and functionality, which is necessary to perform the duties of the position and financial aid business processes. The applicant should also be familiar with various institutional, state and federal processing systems to include, NSLDS, COD, and FAA Access for financial aid, and for Veterans, VA-ONCE.
