Athletics Communications Intern (Part-time) The University of Akron Akron, OH
Responsibilities: Produce extensive copywriting (media releases, media guides and website), layout and design (media guides, website and other publications), editing and record keeping. Perform all game day obligations of assigned sports, which includes being the primary contact for volleyball and at least two Olympic sports and assist on game day with other duties related to football and basketball. Maintain GoZips.com, the department's official website and the University's various athletics related social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, etc.). Interact within the department's external relations operation, which includes marketing and promotions, Zips Digital Network, ticketing and development.
Required Qualifications: A relevant Bachelor's degree and a minimum of (1) one-year experience in athletics media relations. Strong verbal and written communication skills along with excellent computer skills that include knowledge of Photoshop and In-Design required.
