This position will serve as the Family, Health & Well-Being Educator for Cornell Cooperative Extension Association of Franklin County and will implement Family, Health & Well-Being programming for a menu of existing educational programs and program activities. The Educator will deliver research-based Family, Health & Well-Being Programs utilizing existing curriculum and resources. Program topics will include, but not be limited to: food and nutrition, food safety, family health and well-being, etc. This position will coordinate assigned administrative aspects of the Family, Health & Well-Being Program and will assist the Executive Director with marketing efforts for Family, Health & Well-Being programming. This position will also coordinate information and updates to the Association website, as well as other social media efforts to include Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest, and will coordinate and manage all media transactions (i.e. social/web, print, radio and television) in support of programming efforts.

This position is a full-time non-exempt position - 100% FTE, 35 hours per week. The hourly rate for this position will range from $18.00 to $20.00 This position, based on eligibility, offers a comprehensive benefit package, to include: health and dental insurance, retirement, vacation, sick and personal leave.
Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition, Community Health, or related field of study or equivalent education (Associate's Degree and two (2) years of transferrable program/functional experience).
Experience relevant to the role of the position.
Valid New York State Driver's License and the ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position.
Ability to meet acceptable background check standards (DMV and criminal background checks).
Ability to work flexible hours which may include evenings and/or weekends, as appropriate.
Registered Dietitian preferred.
Knowledge of nutrition, food science, food safety, health, fitness and wellness education.

Utilize established program resources and materials in program work.
Respond to consumer inquires and questions related to food and nutrition, food safety, and family, health & well-being to participants of senior centers designated in geographic areas.
Teach existing Family, Health & Well-Being programming to include, but not be limited to: food and nutrition, food safety, family health and well-being, etc.
Teach already-established Family, Health & Well-Being educational programming and activities in support of other Nutrition programming efforts as identified/needed to support the established Plan of Work.
Assist in teaching existing innovative educational programs when grant-funded opportunities arise.
Occasionally apply established subject matter knowledge to create lessons plans as identified.
Provide Family, Health & Well-Being educational programs via mass media.
Work to foster acceptance of Family, Health & Well-Being program, methods, and policies while addressing community and individual needs and considering diverse audiences.
Serve as subject matter resource in the area of Family, Health & Well-Being to participants, staff and the general public.
Represent Cornell Cooperative Extension before the public, community leaders, government officials, Cornell or other land grant universities as part of program delivery.
Serve as a team member and cooperate with the entire Association and Nutrition Program staff to achieve Association program delivery goals.
Evaluation - 10%
Implement program evaluation as designed.
Interact with program participants to obtain their evaluation data, to include: evaluating effectiveness of all programs offered.
Assist Executive Director in the process of analyzing program data and, based on that analysis, assist in making recommendations for improvements in program offerings.
Communicate evaluation finding to constituents as appropriate.
Direction - 5%
Assist Executive Director in planning the delivery of established educational Family, Health & Well-Being program goals.
Provide input in planning the structure of delivering educational Family, Health & Well-Being programs via various delivery methods.
Provide low complexity administrative tasks in planning for mass media efforts related to Family, Health & Well-Being programs.
Management - 5%
Solve problems and resolve conflicts that arise in the operation of the Family, Health & Well-Being programming, utilizing appropriate policies and procedures and under the guidance of Executive Director as needed.
Provide low complexity administrative management of established educational program goals.
Provide guidance to volunteers and co-workers, including those performing similar work as assigned and in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Assist in identifying and recommending program needs (i.e. program supplies and materials) to the Executive Director.
Coordination/Operation - 5%
Organize and coordinate activities related to Family, Health & Well-Being Programming.
Coordinate Association outreach and programming efforts (i.e. compiling information and aligning resources) to enhance the Association's social media (i.e. Twitter, Pinterest, Facebook) and website outreach efforts.
Coordinate identified administrative aspects of Family, Health & Well-Being Programming to include, but not be limited to: ordering and inventory of supplies and marketing of Family, Health & Well-Being Programs.
Coordinate, compile and organize existing program resources and program materials.
Provide moderately complex administrative tasks to support the delivery of established educational program goals.
Provide low complexity limited tasks to support the implementation of the program budget; submit program related expenses and receipts for appropriate documentation and recording.
Assist in coordinating effective marketing strategies in the promotion of programming efforts in to include, but not limited to: print media, news media, social media, and multi-media efforts.
Provide administrative support (i.e. record keeping, data management and program reports) as required by the Association and grant/contract requirements.
Effectively maintain professional relationships with other agencies, organizations and businesses that promote effective communication to facilitate continued programming efforts.
This position may require the transport of program participants and/or program materials and resources in performing position responsibilities.
Professional Improvement and Other Duties as Assigned - 5%
In cooperation with Supervisor and/or Executive Director, jointly develop and pursue a professional development plan as a means to increase competencies relative to position accountabilities and to address changes in programming and association priorities.
Collaborate in activities that are in general support of Cornell Cooperative Extension including but not limited to attendance at staff meetings, timely reporting of expenses, working with other staff, general marketing of Extension programs and other duties as assigned.
