In this role, you will be part of a team of technicians which provides maintenance of the computer desktop and local network environment by analyzing requirements, resolving problems, installing hardware and software solutions, and supporting the internal IT Helpdesk. This is primarily a help desk support position, with the main area of responsibility to support the PCs, printers, software applications, and related equipment at the NJ State Library and the Talking Book and Braille Center.
• Provide helpdesk support to roughly 100 end users and resolve problems to the end user’s satisfaction • Monitor and respond quickly and effectively to requests received through the IT helpdesk system • Utilize and maintain the helpdesk tracking software • Document internal procedures • Install, test and configure new workstations, peripheral equipment and software • Maintain inventory of all equipment, software and software licenses • Manage PC setup and deployment for new employees using standard hardware, images and software • Assign users and computers to proper groups in Active Directory • Monitor and resolve virus/spyware/ and malware issues • Managing the HP thin client environment • Work on special projects as needed
Education and Experience: Commensurate with the level of expertise a project demands.
Required Skillsets: • Must have experience providing helpdesk support to end users • Must have experience working with Windows 10 and Office 2016 • The ability to work in a team environment
Preferred Skills: • Experience with Windows Server 2012 and above • Experience with Exchange Server 2016 and above • Experience with HP thin clients • Experience with WSUS • Experience working with Linux and other open source software • Knowledge of Sirsi Dynix ILS (integrated library software) • Knowledge of Envisionware's PC reservation System • Experience with VMware • Experience working with Sophos EndPoint Control
