We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Data Manager.
Execute Commercial Banking data policies and standards by working collaboratively with business and Information Technology stakeholders
Facilitate ongoing adherence to Commercial Banking data policies and standards through the use of best practices, methodologies, and templates
Provide data consultancy to Commercial Banking stakeholders and project teams, to resolve or provide recommendations for resolution of data issues
Execute the Management Information Streamlining initiative with a process engineering mindset using available data wrangling and visualization tools
Serve as a focus for analytical efforts to address issues or concerns which arise from the ongoing work from the Data Quality Team, project teams, or from business as usual activities
Proactively challenge and positively influence business Small Medium Enterprises and senior Stakeholders to ensure data solutions are sustainable and aligned with data strategy, data policies and standards
Coordinating and collaborating with key stakeholders to support change initiatives ensuring they are implemented appropriately from a risk management and operational perspective, including Middle Office, Financial Crime Compliance, Sanctions, Anti-Money Laundering, HOST, Transformation and BRCM etc.
Drive and encourage constructive cross-country and cross-business teamwork through collaboration and matrix management and taking prompt action to address any activities and behaviours that are not consistent with HSBC's diversity policy and/or the best interests of the business and its customers.
Banking experience with good knowledge of investment banking global markets and commercial banking
Knowledge of Customer Due Diligence, preferably in a Commercial Banking context, is favorable
Solid years of experience in data management or governance role, with good awareness of industry data standards, for example, ISO and NACE
Good working knowledge of data matching tools and the utilization of standards as part of quality assurance
Experienced with data quality management, particularly around static customer data, product, finance and risk data
Excellent business communication, both written, verbal, and presentation skills, particularly in English
Strong interpersonal skills and client oriented
Project Management experience and skills preferred
Self-motivated, focused, detailed oriented and able to work efficiently to deadlines are essential
Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy, but is also a good team player
Ability to work across geographically dispersed teams and offshore resources in a matrix environment
