The Regional Admissions Manager reports to the Director of Admissions and Recruitment and operates with minimal direction. The Regional Admissions Manager independently manages the day to day operations of admissions recruitment within an identified state or region outside of California. This includes but is not limited to collaborating with leadership team to create strategic plans for recruiting within the state or region, marketing, maintaining and evaluating any state specific admissions policies and procedures as required, conducting outreach and providing information and guidance to prospective undergraduate and graduate students and their families, and establishing state-specific recruitment goals and plans to reach enrollment targets. A main goal of the position is to increase the overall number of newly enrolled national and partner students annually.
The Regional Admissions Manager is directly accountable for the success of the programs they run in their assigned state. The Regional Admissions Manager will reside in the assigned state and must be adept at maintaining performance and achieving goals while working remotely. The Regional Admissions Manger will utilize strong interpersonal and public speaking skills in presenting Cal Poly's academic programs, its philosophy, admission practices and procedures to prospective students and to the general public.

Minimum Qualifications (Staff Only):
A Bachelor's degree and five years of progressively responsible experience in a complex organization. A Master's degree may be substituted for one year of experience.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and with a minimum of supervison in a remote setting
Exceptional time-management, planning, organizational skills, and ability to multi-task, while attending to detail and meeting the demands of multiple deadlines
Demonstrated ability to maintain high quality/standards of work, initiative, problem solving, commitment, creativity, professional responsibility and judgment
Working knowledge of fiscal analysis and budget administration, including the maintenance budgets and financial records
Working knowledge of the admissions process, practices, and procedures, and the ability to independently apply a wide variety of policies and procedures where specific guidelines may not exist
Demonstrated ability to utilize research based information resources (i.e. College Board's Enrollment Planning Service, and ACT Enrollment Information Service) and provide data to support University initiatives for assigned state
Strong understanding of and ability to apply knowledge of administrative procedures, systems, and methods involved in planning, organizing, and implementing programs to support yield strategies and related initiative.
Ability to independently and solely troubleshoot, problem-solve, and handle multiple priorities and projects in a constantly changing environment and under difficult situations and deadlines
Ability to be flexible and adapt to change
Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and tact and to maintain confidentiality
Knowledge of higher education academic policies and understanding of policy creation and management, undergraduate and graduate academic programs, and curriculum, applicable policies and procedures in both California and the assigned region, including Admission's practices and procedures, AACRAO publications and guidelines, NCAA manuals, and other federal mandates
Excellent oral and written communication skills with the demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in sensitive situations and with the community and staff at all levels. Ability to effectively translate and explain complex laws and policies in terms that staff, applicants, parents, counselors, and the campus community can understand.
Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of constituencies, both on and off campus and remotely, and use tact in working with these groups in order to balance competing interests
Demonstrated critical thinking and interpretive skills to analyze situations, define problems, interpret and apply policies, identify concerns, develop and implement solutions
Knowledge and proficiency in using software programs including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, CRM, PeopleSoft, Perceptive Content, and MCA.
Demonstrated understanding of laws and regulations in California and assigned region, including Title V
Demonstrated understanding of CSU policies as they relate to recruitment and admission of students
Two or more years of direct experience in recruitment, admissions, international education, higher education or other related field.
Experience using comprehensive student administration systems such as PeopleSoft.
Proficiency in both MAC and PC computers
