We have an opening for a Chief Security Officer position at the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA). The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency is a department of the City and County of San Francisco that is responsible for the management of all ground transportation in the city. The SFMTA has oversight over the Municipal Railway (Muni) public transit, as well as bicycling, paratransit, parking, traffic, walking, and taxis.
The SFMTA Chief Security Officer (CSO) is responsible for the overall security of the transportation system, with a special focus on transit operations. The CSO plans and directs all functions and activities of the Security, Investigations and Enforcement units including the Private Security Unit, Proof of Payment Unit, Video Surveillance Unit, Emergency Management System Unit, Muni Response, Task Force and Surge Teams.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university; AND Eight (8) years of full-time military, law enforcement and/or security experience of which four (4) years MUST have been in a supervisory capacity; AND Possession and maintenance of a valid Driver’s License
Substitution: Additional qualifying supervisory experience in military, law enforcement and/or security experience may be substituted for the required degree on a year-for-year basis. Thirty (30) semester units/forty-five (45) quarter units equal one year.
