The Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health Registrar's Office (RO) manages student enrollment, maintains student data and grades, monitors students' compliance with degree requirements, certifies enrollment, assesses tuition, and schedules courses. The office manages the local HSPH implementation of the student records components of the my.harvard Student Information System and the EMS room scheduling system. It is the source of student records reporting for the HSPH school.
Reporting to the Associate Registrar at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health (SPH), the Special Programs Manager, plays a vital role in influencing and managing the strategic direction of the SPH Summer Session. The session's programs vary in start date, length, tuition structure, and requirements for entrance and completion. This high profile position plays a critical role in creating all project plans and timelines, communicates regulary with key program stakeholders. The Special Programs Manager is also responsible for working with other members of the Registrar's Office staff to ensure year-round credentialing compliance for both degree and non-degree students and manages the Guest Student Coordinator.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Acts as the primary liaison for members of the SPH community interested in creating new, non-degree programs, or in expanding an existing summer program
Working with various stakeholders provides guidance for program design, development, implementation and execution
Manages and maintains the summer session production calendar
Makes strategic decisions regarding program design and student statuses that affect and impact the success of the programs
Leads and guides program creation and execution, and ensures that each program manager works in coordination with summer session post-matriculation policies
As the liaison to the summer only degree student population, maintains, updates and audits student academic records
Records and notifies students of decisions made by school governing bodies
Responsible for a section of the Commencement Program and diploma distribution lists
Follows through on student status changes and interprets student term bills
Provides training to program and summer team staff on student information systems and reporting software, including Campus Solutions, OBIEE, and the PS Query reporting tools
Develops and runs reports -- creating templates to be maintained for future use
Makes technical and programmatic decisions related to the utilization of Campus Solutions
Manages day-to-day progress and updates, of summer programs, for senior staff
Supervises the Guest Student Coordinator
Facilitates a seamless participant experience from initiation through completion of a program (including degree and non-degree programs), and tracks and manages enrollment for all accepted into the programs
Establishes and manages expectations with faculty, department administrators, and directors
Maintains and disseminates program delivery updates
Working with the Registrar and Associate Registrar, reviews, updates, and creates new policies as required
Defines and communicates process standards, and proposes process improvements to senior leadership in the department
Serves as the point person between all enrollment constituents for the programs
Collects and disseminates all information pertaining to the non-degree programs to administrators and faculty
Maintains the Office's summer program webpages and Student Handbook
Leverages best practices and enforces office standards
Implements SPH policies as they impact summer session students
Organizes meetings and gathering sessions with stakeholders
Serves as primary contact for Harvard University Health Services and the Harvard International Office
Other duties as needed

Bachelor's Degree required
3+ years of related experience required
Master's degree preferred
Experience managing programs, from organizational design to implementation, utilizing a student information system preferred
Experience working in a higher education setting preferred
Experience in negotiating with various and competing interests preferred
Experience delegating tasks and managing staff preferred
Experience with complex planning and running of events for 500+ individuals preferred
Experience with Microsoft Office products required preferred
Experience with Campus Solutions and reporting tools such as OBIEE preferred
Experience in managing projects from inception through completion and demonstrated ability to problem-solve preferred
Strong oral and written skills preferred
