BlackRock is seeking a junior Investment Strategist, based in San Francisco. The strategist role is responsible for all aspects of driving business growth for FBSG across North America, including business development, internal education and thought leadership. The position will support both institutional and retail channels.
The successful candidate will work closely with fellow product strategists as well as with internal partners. This role requires strong communication, analytical and presentation skills and an understanding of capital markets.
Work closely with Senior Investment Strategists as well as business partners across institutional, retail and iShares sales channels to drive net new business in enhanced factor strategies. Offer in-depth and up-to-date knowledge on the entirety of the factor-based investment platform and articulately represent factor investing with internal partners as well as in client discussions.
Provide the highest level of client service to internal business partners and external clients, including timely and insightful responses to client queries and creative solutions for business opportunities.
Develop market commentary, client materials and strategy attribution for a variety of factor based strategies. Develop internal training resources and sales tools.
Develop awareness and understanding of competitive environment and contribute insights toward product positioning and business development strategy.
Assist in production of ad hoc analysis and requests for clients and prospects. Contribute to new business opportunities via timely response to requests for proposal (RFPs)
Take a proactive approach to solving clients' investment-related, business and operational issues by serving as the liaison between the investment team and all other areas of BlackRock (compliance, legal, operations, marketing and sales)
BA/BS in Finance, Economics or similar field.
1.5-2+ year's industry experience, including strong investment management knowledge. Proven client facing capability is a plus
Passionate about investing, fundamentally curious and self-motivated. Work independently and proactively in an entrepreneurial and fast-paced team environment
Knowledge of factor based investing practices and understanding of capital markets across a broad range of asset classes
Client servicing experience preferred including strong interpersonal skills for effective and efficient communications across various internal and external channels.
Strong written and verbal communication skills a requirement
Strong Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) skills required. Familiarity risk models, Aladdin, Matlab and Python are a plus
