The University of Missouri - St. Louis College of Education announces a one-year academic position for the 2019-2020 academic year as a non-tenure-track teaching faculty in the Counselor Education Program. The primary purpose of this position is to teach graduate courses in the clinical mental health counseling field and provide clinical supervision. The candidate in this position will teach a required number of classes per academic year as determined by the College of Education and department chair.
The College of Education offers CACREP-accredited master's degrees in school counseling and clinical mental health counseling as well as a CACREP-accredited PhD program in counselor education.
Responsibilities: * Teach graduate courses commensurate with the faculty member's expertise * Supervise clinical practica and internship students * Advise masters students * Demonstrate commitment to cultural diversity and social justice * Participate in committee, leadership, professional organizations and community service
Qualifications: The successful candidate will possess: * a doctoral degree in counselor education or related field * successful experience teaching clinical mental health counseling classes * excellent written and oral communication skills * ability to analyze data and communicate complex information * ability to communicate effectively, efficiently and sensitively with students, staff and other members of the university community.
Expectations: The holder of this position will be expected to perform these duties in a professional manner and to abide by the collected Rules and Regulations of the University Systems.
Salary and benefits: Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications. This is a full-time, 9-month academic, 100% FTE, benefits eligible position.
Appointment terms: This position has no rights to tenure at the University of Missouri. Appointment is a nine-month non-tenured faculty position for the 2019-2020 academic year beginning mid-August 2019. Relocation/moving expenses and VISA applications will not be supported.
