We are looking for a talented, creative, staff growth-oriented and partnership focused security leader to join our team. The Assistant Vice President for Security, Compliance, and Risk Management (SCRM) serves as Miami University’s Information Security Officer.
In this role, you will tackle a broad range of security efforts for the University, including:
Assisting with and/or overseeing the incident response and investigatory efforts
General counsel requests (investigations, litigation holds, etc)
Academic dishonesty investigations
Occasional consultation with Miami University Police Department
Administering security awareness training
Crafting information security policies, standards, and procedures
Working with internal and external auditors
In addition, the SCRM team is responsible for:
PII and sensitive data discovery and remediation
Working with clients to assess the security posture of requested solutions and, when appropriate, helping identify solutions with comparable features and superior security
Working with clients to bring them into compliance with applicable standards

Lead the Security, Compliance, and Risk Management of IT Services and serve as a member of the IT Services leadership team
Manage strategic partnerships and build strong long-term relationships with organizations and individuals both on and off campus.
Engage with internal and external stakeholders, strategic partners, and other IT Services units to maintain the University’s information security and compliance stance.
Oversee and participate in efforts including security awareness, working with counsel, incident response and investigations, policy development, enforcement, and review, and security operations.
Sponsor and guide the campus-wide identity management modernization program.
Serve as a champion information security and guide the day to day efforts of the SCRM team, including ensuring on-time delivery of critical SCRM efforts.
Set and manage to institutional, organizational, and division goals using appropriate measures and metrics.
Develop staff and teams to their full potential by supporting and mentoring them throughout their professional and personal growth.
Lead on-campus Security Working Group, comprised of distributed IT staff, to ensure distribution of security materials, practices, and standards across distributed IT
May teach one credit-bearing course per semester with departmental approval.
Other duties as assigned.

Require a Masters degree with 7 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Require at least five years of experience demonstrating a progression in leadership experience.
Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, a lawful permanent resident, admitted for residence as an applicant under the 1986 immigration amnesty law, refugee asylee.
Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience providing the knowledge/skills/abilities listed above may be substituted. Experience in these knowledge/skills/abilities may be earned concurrently.
