Solicit and write proposals and reports for federal, state, and city government RFP’s as well as private foundation and corporation RFP’s.
Update, improve, and complete programmatic grant funding renewals.
Work with program and administrative staff to package information into a cohesive, compelling, and successful grant proposal.
Communicate and report to the Development Director about the grants calendar and pipeline.
Identify and write proposals to new funding sources for LCBH operations and programs.
Analyze grantors’ funding history, patterns, and potential.
Other Writing Projects
Produce general communications pieces as needed, including newsletters, acknowledgement letters, press releases, and other assignments.
Our Ideal Candidate:
Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree a plus.
3-5 years of grant writing experience.
Evidence of past grant writing success (a writing sample is required).
Familiarity with Chicago philanthropic community.
Knowledge of legal aid, homelessness prevention, and/or similar human services programs strongly preferred.
Experience writing and managing government grants.
Ability to analyze and compile technical and statistical information and prepare reports and correspondence.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Neon (or a similar donor database).
