Multi-faceted role preparing internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from financial records. Ensure financial compliance and accuracy, while performing analytical, technical, and administrative accounting work. Supports payable, receivables, perform ledger work, assists in producing financial information and contributes to cash flow management, full function staff accounting work.
What you will do
Learn about the accounting function from the Director of Finance and Senior Accountant;
Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends;
Review and verify all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to inputting into Accounts Payable system;
Sort, code and match invoices by cost center and document before processing;
Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date and research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues;
Resolves account discrepancies by investigating documentation; issuing stop payments, payments, or adjustments;
Verifies accounts by reconciling statements and transactions;
Post transactions to the general journal, ledger and other records;
Reconcile organization credit card account at month end;
Create Journal Entries during month end close, ledger and other records;
Process customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions;
Prepare customer invoices;
Sales & Use tax calculation and Quarterly filing;
Assists with annual financial audit;
Maintains financial security by following internal accounting controls;
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed;
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Education, Experience and Skills
B.S. Accounting/Finance or equivalent;
0 - 3 years experience in accounting or accounts payable desk;
Knowledge of accounting rules, regulations, policies and procedures that is reflective of the financial services industry;
Proven, solid Excel skills and exposure to automated accounting systems.
$45,000 - $55,000 based on experience
