The Atlantic 10 Conference is accepting applications for the position of Associate Director of Compliance. The Associate Director of Compliance reports to the Senior Associate Commissioner for Governance and Compliance and will maintain primary responsibility for the day-to-day management of the compliance services provided to the Atlantic 10 membership, including, but not limited to:
•Interpretation Services. Review, research and provide written responses to all membership requests for interpretations of NCAA and/or A-10 rules and regulations. •Rules Education. Work proactively and creatively to develop rules education materials and conduct rules education sessions for the membership or specific A-10 governance groups. •Waiver Administration. Review and process NCAA and A-10 waivers (e.g., hardship, medical absence, incidental expense). •NCAA Level III Violations. Monitor and evaluate NCAA Level III violation reports and create rules education or best practices resources when appropriate. •Compliance Policies and Procedures. Maintain written, transparent policies and procedures for the conference’s operating procedures related to compliance services. •Website Management: Development and maintenance of internal and external compliance resource website. •National Letter of Intent Program. Serve as the primary administrator for the NLI program. •NCAA Coaches Certification programs. Serve as the primary administrator for the annual coaches’ recruiting exam. •A-10 Compliance Administrators, Monthly Calls and In-Person Meeting. Assist with planning and facilitation of the monthly compliance conference calls, as well as the annual in-person compliance meeting. •Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Serve as staff liaison to SAAC.
Additionally, the successful candidate will participate in monthly CCACA conference calls and yearly in-person meeting, as well as perform other duties as assigned. The possibility exists for oversight of one Olympic Sport Championship.
The qualified candidate should have a minimum of four years of experience in intercollegiate athletics and a thorough understanding of NCAA legislation and the governance system. The successful candidate must posses strong organizational and analytical skills, be self-motivated, solution oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Candidates must be technologically proficient and have prior experience or familiarity with NCAA applications (i.e., LSDBi, RSRO). Bachelor’s degree is required. An advanced degree is preferred.
