We are currently seeking a senior Knowledge Management Analyst to join the Knowledge Management and Innovation (KMI) Group within the Division of Health Informatics. KMIs mission is to support leaderships, cancer care teams, and researches by providing them with the data and insights they need for operations, measuring clinical performance, facilitating improvement of quality of care, analytics, and research. We provide innovative solutions to standardize, quality control, govern, translate, and make information available and accessible in large scale.
The Knowledge Management Analyst is responsible for the development, testing, implementation, and management of biomedical terminologies and ontologies at the enterprise level including associated models, maintenance processes, and mapping to local content.
Provide day-to-day development and maintenance of clinical content related to various clinical terminology related content.
Work with business and domain experts to develop and evolve MSK terminology/ontology content and content management capabilities
Ensure that terminologies and ontologies provide adequate domain coverage and are compatible with relevant healthcare interoperability standards.
Develop high-quality technical documentation about terminologies and ontologies, including detailed descriptions of the terminology content and its associated models and processes.
Assist, with the definition of integration, translation (mapping), migration, and conversion strategies for new and existing knowledge content and data sources, including robust change control and versioning procedures.
Use the MSKs collaboration and content management authoring/publishing tools to accomplish the above responsibilities.
Work collaboratively with other technical teams on knowledge-engineering focused projects.
Develop training documentation and training users.
Graduate degree in health/medical informatics or related discipline or equivalent experience;
2-5 years of experience working with clinical terminologies/ontologies.
Knowledge of relevant healthcare data standards (i.e., RxNorm, SnoMed, LOINC, ICD-10, UMLS);
Understanding of the types of the information used in the healthcare/clinical environment, also details of how clinical data are produced, consumed and transformed
Good SQL skills, understanding of relational databases and ETL;
Excellent works ethics, strong organizational skills, ability to work independently
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Exceptional attention to detail.
Able to identify problem areas and participate in solutions.
Comfortable with learning software applications
Able to work collaboratively on inter-department teams.
Experience with oncology and genomic data models and terminologies
Registered nurse or other allied health professions training and clinical experience preferred;
Understanding of semantic standards (RDFS/SHACL/OWL/SKOS/SPARQL); experience using and or developing semantic models using RDFS/SHACL/OWL/SKOS/SPARQL
Experience with graphical ontology tools such as TopBraid Composer and Protg
Experience with integrating clinical data into a standard platform (i2b2, OMOP)
Experience with software development (Java, Python, etc.)
Background in data mining, natural language processing, or machine learning
Experience with data visualization (e.g. Tableau, Splunk, R)
