Premise Health is currently looking for a Medical Director to provide clinical leadership of Telemedicine services to members in a virtual health setting. Summary: The Medical Director, Virtual Health is responsible for the medical leadership and clinical oversight, health outcomes, and patient care for the telemedicine line of business. The Medical Director, Virtual Health reports directly to the EVP, Medical Operations, and is partnered with other members of the management team to collaboratively operate the health centers. The Medical Director, Virtual Health aligns medical professionals to company goals, targets and timelines, ensuring performance commitments and results are achieved Essential Functions: Serves as a valued and trusted member of the Medical Operations leadership team and assumes duties and responsibilities of the organization commensurate with such a position. Helps formulate and maintain architecture of Premise Health’s Virtual Health program in conjunction with IT, Growth Strategy, and other divisions of the company. Obtains and maintains appropriate licensure to oversee and deliver medical care in a distributed fashion appropriate to the company’s needs. Defines and drives health outcome initiatives; implements interventions and presents results to providers and management team as well as the client partner. Develops strategies, policies, and guidelines (clinical and administrative) to correct, improve, or create innovative approaches to servicing the medical requirements of the client/account. All policies and guidelines must be in alignment with Premise Health Quality of Care initiatives governed by the Premise Medical Operations team. Ensures standardization and consistency of medical procedures/processes across the region/organization. Leads, motivates, trains and inspires effective medical and people/performance management in a virtual environment. Responds to quality and service issues and provides intervention and guidance when critical issues arise. Reviews the incident/occurrence reporting process and identify trends regarding risk management and mitigation, quality and compliance issues. Collaborates with all functional areas of the business to ensure clinical alignment and scope of practice based on evidence-based data. Identifies trends and patterns via analysis of data; recommends resolution and provides perspective (the why’s) in collaboration with other RMDs and the Chief Medical Officer Presents data/medical findings and functions as a medical expert consultant for client-facing meetings. Develops and drives adherence to annual program and virtual health - goals and objectives in collaboration with the management team. Leads and motivates medical providers in a remote virtual health environment; uses effective medical and performance development management processes. Establishes communication mechanisms to deliver consistent and timely communication of directives, best practices, regulatory and medical research updates to health center staff. Assumes overall responsibility for patients receiving virtual care - and collaborates with other health center staff to ensure clinical alignment and scope of practice based on evidence-based data/medicine. Works in tandem with the management team to ensure a collaborative, results-driven, team-oriented environment. Provides episodic, preventive, occupational and/or primary health care to patients depending on the needs of the client. Conducts histories, physical exams (in-person or as appropriate in a virtual environment) and prescribes medical treatment. Provides consultative advice and insight on unique medical cases, patient situations and/or client issues Coordinates and researches continuing educational opportunities for the development of staff. Assists with decisions regarding the hiring of physicians, providers, and support staff to ensure quality and fit of candidates. Evaluates, trains, and mentors the virtual health physicians and staff providers. Performs annual evaluations of virtual health physicians, providers and support staff as necessary with input from key stakeholders. Meets periodically with the Client Medical Leadership in alignment with the key stakeholders. Other projects as required to address specific medical needs. Supports, leads, and models the vision, mission, and values of the company. May require other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Education: Minimum Educational requirement: MD or DO degree, Board Certified in Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Preventive Medicine or Occupational Medicine. Board Certification in both a Primary Care Specialty and Occupational Medicine preferred. Current unencumbered license to practice medicine in good standing in at least one state in the United States. Ability and willingness to become licensed to practice medicine in 50 states Complete and receive credit for continuing medical education as required by state licensure requirements Current certification in AHA or ARC Basic Life Support for health care providers is preferred. Experience: 7 – 10 years minimum in Primary Care 3 years minimum experience operating and practicing within a telemedicine or virtual environment Minimum 5 years management/leadership experience within the healthcare industry, multi-site management preferred Experience managing in a virtual environment preferred Familiarity with Epic electronic medical record preferred Knowledge and history of participation in Core Quality Indicator and Health Maintenance programs Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge and experience with outcomes based health initiatives. Demonstrated exceptional interpersonal and collaboration skills. Superior verbal and written communication skills. Excellent presentation skills, confident in all settings with individuals at all levels of the organization both internal and external. Understanding of the economic trends in medicine. Excellent quantitative skills. Must be able to analyze data trends, and to critically analyze the medical literature. Demonstrated skill with Microsoft Office Suite and web-based programs.
