Reporting to the Regional CNO, the Regional Director of NursingProfessional Development is responsible for developing, coordinating, andevaluating the College Station Regionâs Hospital-wide education programs withinAssociation for Nursing Professional Development (ANPD) Scope and Standards ofPractice. The position has oversight of our Level I Trauma Center, PediatricTrauma Center, Continuing Care Hospital, and all clinics in the Temple Region.
The Regional Director is responsible for coordination of nursingorientation, continuing education, and professional development for RNs, LVNs,unlicensed nursing staff and interprofessional as designated by facility. Collaborateswith Human Resources and other facility departments ensuring professionaldevelopment and practice are continually updated in a timely manner to reflectcurrent evidence and trends. Demonstrates leadership in pursuit of nursingresearch and evidence-based practice to inform educational initiatives atfacility and system level.
Â·Oversee the operational, personnel and fiscal management of NursingProfessional Development department operations, including activities such asestablishing goals, monitoring statistics, developing work plans, andsupervising on a day-to-day basis.
Â·In collaboration with Nursing Leadership, plan and set goals andobjectives for education and research initiatives including effective,efficient methodology for deploying and resourcing.
Â·Develop, implement and monitor policies and procedures as well asoperational and capitalbudgets for designated area of responsibility in support of strategicplan
Â·Collaborates with Academic Partners and coordinates undergraduate andgraduate student nurse clinical rotations.
Â·Provides oversight in development of EBP onboarding, in-services,competencies and educational initiatives to support quality of care.Facilitates integration of professional development nursing competencies toenhance patient and family learning across the continuum of care.
Â·Investigate, develop and apply for grants or other funding to supportnursing education and research initiatives.
Â·Maintains knowledge of nursing trends and educational techniques andprogram evaluation methods consistent with ANPD Scope and Standards.
Â·Establish opportunities to acquire input and assess educational needsfrom stakeholders across areas supported by Nursing Education Department. (suchas Shared Governance Committee, Quality Committees, Leadership Councils).
Â·Prepare and maintain educational resources to support quality care ofpopulations served across continuum of care. In addition, coordinate andfacilitate selected IS/technology nursing education related projects that impactpatient care.
Â·Design measurements and tools to evaluate educational initiatives andimpact on clinical outcomes and staff satisfaction.
Â·Leads and/or participates in committees related to education andevidence-based practice to advance quality of care in alignment withorganization strategic plan.
Â·Serve on Continuing Education Planning Committees for programs desiringaccreditation.
Â·Comply with requirements of regulatory, licensing, and accreditingagencies.
Â·Performs other position appropriate duties as required in a competent,professional and courteous manner.
Â·Masterâs Degree required,Doctorate preferred
