What we are looking for:
You will be part of our diverse team as a Technical Recruiter. You will work closely with our senior technical staff and other recruiters to develop creative strategies to locate the best talent to support our needs. You will be responsible for exploring various channels to find potential candidates and build a diverse talent pipeline for current and future hiring needs. You will participate in NREC recruiting activities to ensure that NREC hiring managers are able to find and attract technical talent and support/administrative personnel to our R&D engineering organization.
You will also work with CMU's Human Resources to take advantage of its recruiting capabilities, working with external recruiting agencies focusing on discovering experienced personnel already working in industry, and directly working with the CMU system for job postings, applicant screenings, and generation of offer letters. You will also use all the tools at your disposal to find talented individuals that fit the job requirements and are likely to be a match for NREC's culture and work environment.

Your primary responsibilities will include:
Source quality candidates : Search for candidates using available tools (e.g. social media, LinkedIn Recruiter Seat, etc.), organize and participate in events to attract local students; trips to college campuses, etc. Provide input to the marketing team to maintain and update the careers section of the website. This includes keeping the job openings list on the website up-to-date.
Direct recruiting of individual candidates : Perform a preliminary screening of resumes to bring only qualified resumes to the technical team. Perform preliminary phone screen of the candidates to validate they are a good match for the position and for NREC. Provides recommendations to the hiring manager on which candidates are the most promising. Schedule interview with the best candidates. Orchestrate interview questions with the interviewing team and organize interview debriefs to collect all the comments. Provides recommendation to the hiring managers on which candidate to hire.
Administrative functions : In collaborating with the Senior Technical Recruiter, generate job opening descriptions for the career section of CMU's website and make sure they are posted within a reasonable time by CMU HR and provide offer letters in a timely fashion.
Communicate with NREC Leadership : In collaboration with the Senior Technical Recruiter, keep track of the candidate pipeline and job openings to provide a weekly status to NREC Leadership as well as hiring managers.
Coordination of hiring process for hiring managers : In collaboration with the Senior Technical Recruiter, ensure that hiring managers and interviewers are following the process from start the finish. This includes collaborating with CMU HR for visa processing.
Assist with additional administrative/recruiting functions as needed
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
3+ years of strong sourcing experience, including demonstrable experience in developing and executing innovative search techniques, name/lead generation, internet searches using social media and other tools to identify relevant prospects
Experience with recruiting for technical/scientific positions (software engineers, electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, robotics engineers, etc.)
Capability to develop and execute creative search strategies to build a pipeline of candidates and other talent segments as needed, utilizing various channels such as: LinkedIn, use of Boolean, personal network, blogs, forums, and other social media
Ability to understand key roles and identify high potential resumes
Ability to positively present NREC open roles to potential candidates
Review resumes and credentials for appropriate skills, experience, and knowledge in relation to position requirements
Interview and assess for technical and business abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational and planning skills
Flexibility, team player, ability to react to deadlines
Ability to take initiatives
