Position Title: Assistant Men's Basketball Coach
Reports to: Director, Athletics and Wellness Center
Assist Head Coach in all responsibilities related to the men's basketball team.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Assists the Head Coach in all of the following duties:
Assist head coach in establishing team goals for season and insure that they are in line with MassBay Athletic program;
Responsible for recruiting, training eligible players, organizing, implementing, coordinating and supervising all aspects of the team sport, and for attend practices and games;
Responsible for knowledge of and adhering to league rules and best practices pertaining to sport techniques, rules and regulations;
Communicate daily with Assistant Director of Athletics regarding season progression including details regarding practices, game results, and player eligibility;
Distribute and collect all team equipment to players throughout the season;
Manage equipment inventory at the end of each season;
Prepare an end of season report outlining the season accomplishments and development needs at the end of the season for Assistant Director of Athletics;
Perform related duties, as required.
College basketball playing or coaching experience.
Community college coaching or playing experience
Length of Appointment: During appropriate team season
Compensation: $6,000 per season
Classification: Part-time, non-benefited
Source of Funding: Local funds
