The National Association of Manufacturers seeks an enterprising grassroots strategist to lead its efforts to engage and activate the nearly 13 million men and women who work in manufacturing – along with the millions more Americans who care about the success of manufacturing – in advocacy on behalf of our industry.

The right candidate for this position should have a demonstrated record of success in growing a community of grassroots advocates for a campaign or organization, collaboratively navigating projects through complex environments, and clearly communicating the contributions of digital advocacy efforts to internal and external stakeholders.
Day to day responsibilities
Management and deployment of tools and messages to educate and activate grassroots community
Develop strategy to continuously grow grassroots network, including organic recruitment opportunities with member companies and partner associations
Curate social media channels with grassroots and public-facing messages and content
Provide routine reports on the health and activity of the grassroots community, and the results from key campaign initiatives
Work collaboratively to develop tools to support colleagues responsible for field advocacy
Support overall public affairs and government relations goals, and provide strategic counsel in developing issue advocacy campaigns
Oversee development of get-out-the-vote and election-related tools for member companies and partners, highlight lawmakers’ positions on key issues for voters, and distribute educational issues about manufacturing issues and provide updates on key voting deadlines and election results
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university;
Over 4 years of association experience, corporate government affairs, political campaign or Capitol Hill experience;
Established track record of managing and growing a grassroots network for advocacy purposes
Strong writing, computer and organizational/time management skills;
Experience with tools like Phone2Action, Salesforce and NationBuilder is preferred;
Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to work as a team, build relations and collaborate effectively with colleagues
Event planning/management experience, including strategic planning, content development and logistics;
Proven ability to work effectively in a fast paced, quality and goal driven work environment.
