Performs duties necessary to provide a safe and physically secure campus environment; prepares police reports; facilitates operation of emergency systems; provides motorist assistance; conducts investigations; ensures campus is locked down and opened; maintains police surveillance and service to the campus community. Follows directions of supervisors.
Conducts armed patrol of designated areas to deter criminal activity; maintains surveillance of vehicle movement, parking and foot patrol.
Associate degree or equivalent and a minimum of at least one (1) year of relevant full-time police experience.
(Equivalent equals a minimum of 34 credit ours and an additional 2 years of relevant experience). OR—
Successful U.S. military service of at least three (3) years resulting in an Honorable Discharge and at least one (1) year of relevant full-time police experience. Successful candidates under this category will be required to complete a minimum of 34 college credit hours within three years from date of hire as a condition of continued employment.
Valid Class A Missouri Peace Officers Standards and Training Commission (POST) or the International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards and Training (IADLEST).
Graduated from P.O.S.T. Approved Police Academy Experience and ability to work in a diverse atmosphere.
