Position Summary: We oversee human resources programs and policies for the Office of the President. General instructions may be provided on new assignments and initiatives.

Duty 1: Guides managers on the development of position descriptions and conducts evaluations for a wide variety of jobs and levels. Reviews requests for new or revised jobs including organizational structures to determine appropriate salary grade assignment. Works closely with Systemwide Labor Relations on out of unit. Function:Job Evaluation Percent: 30
Duty 2: Under general supervision studies and analyzes information related to the compensation of employees based on their positions and other compensable factors for the Office of President. Conducts data analyses to assess compensation issues and recommend appropriate courses of action. Participates in and develops compensation surveys to collect and analyze competitive salary information to determine organization's competitive position. May recommend corrective or alternative actions to resolve complex compensation-related problems. Function:Compensation Actions Percent: 25
Duty 3: Develops recommendations regarding FLSA exemptions. Reviews existing and proposed statutory requirements governing compensation administration and develops appropriate recommendation. Reviews proposed salary adjustments for conformance to established guidelines, policies and practices. Ensure integrity of compensation data in HR/Payroll System. Function:Regulatory and Policy Guidance Percent: 20
Duty 4: Assists with non represented merit administration. Includes updating UCPATH and CATS system with salary range, salary steps and grade changes Assists with bi-annual equity and promotion review. Completes ad hoc equity reviews and analysis. Conducts periodic employee data audits and makes corrections, where necessary. Oversee Represented Wage Implementation for three sets of bargaining unit employees. Function:Salary Administration Percent: 25
Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training and minimum of one year working in Compensation.
Has working knowledge of the compensation function as well as general knowledge of other areas of human resources.
Possesses analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations as well as effective written and verbal communication skills to convey findings and recommendations clearly and concisely.
Has interpersonal skills to interface with business units and other areas of human resources.
Can work collaboratively with client groups and other areas of human resources and complete multiple assignments on time.
Working knowledge of the Microsoft Suite especially EXCEL.
Familiarity with PeopleSoft or other HR/Payroll Systems. Required
Certified Compensation Professional rating preferred
