MSK is seeking a Specialist to join the Health Informatics Team in the Division of Health Informatics (DHI).
DHI focuses on the interaction of people, processes, and technology to support the outstanding patient care delivered at MSK. We manage a suite of clinical information systems including the electronic health record, ancillary systems and tools that enable decision support, health information exchange and knowledge management.
Work with business users to understand their business processes; gather and document requirements; translate requirements into functional specifications for dashboards and reports
Design and optimization of dimensional data models to support reporting infrastructure
Identify project risks and impediments; notify management; actively work with other members of the team to complete assigned tasks as defined by project scope and timelines
Assist in the development of data governance processes which entails documentation and implementation of data quality policies, procedures and standards to ensure a high level of data integrity
Create ad-hoc queries and reports
Develop test plans to assure the functionality and integrity of reporting solutions
Provide leadership and technical guidance to identify system deficiencies, analyze problems and solutions to conclude and implement corrective action.

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Health Administration or equivalent experience
5+ years experience developing reporting solutions against relational and dimensional underlying data in a multi-platform environment
Strong proficiency in SQL and deep knowledge of relational database design principles
Experience with data visualization and analysis tools (Tableau, Splunk)
3+ years experience with relational database management systems and ETL processes
3+ years experience with Microsoft SQL Servers
2-4 years in the healthcare industry
Data governance experience a plus
Tableau experience a plus
Experience with DB2 a plus
