Tandon School of Engineering is seeking candidates for a Junior or Senior Pre Award Grants Specialist for pre-award grants management, including advising faculty and principal investigators on federal, state, University and School fiscal guidelines and requirements to ensure compliance. Provide support for facilitating and expediting the grant and contract application process, while working closely with faculty in developing grant proposals and ensuring compliance. The holder of this position consults with faculty and PIs to write external grant proposals to federal, state, and local government agencies and, to a lesser extent, to private foundations; consults with faculty to identify proposals that are defined as strategic priorities for Tandon and that match faculty’s research interests.
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree degree in related field, experience in post-secondary educational setting
Required Experience: 5+ years of experience in high-volume Sponsored Research Office (senior candidate), 3 years for junior candidate
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent interpersonal and written/oral communication skills; good working knowledge of OMB circulars and FAR
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Very high level of computer aptitude; ability to multi-task and prioritize; ability to perform well under intense deadline pressure
