Position Summary: Under the general supervision of the Registrar, the Assistant Registrar for Graduation and Military/Veteran Students & Graduation is responsible for assisting with all aspects of the graduation process, including the coordination, evaluation and certification of all graduation applicants. In Addition, the Assistant Registrar is responsible for administering and coordinating military-related benefit programs for active duty service members, veterans, reservists, and eligible dependents. The Assistant Registrar is the point of contact for benefits-related issues and also ensures compliance with the rules and regulations established by the Principles of Excellence, Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Department of Education (ED), Department of Defense (DoD), the New Jersey State Approving Agency (SAA), & other Federal & state agencies with regulatory authority.
Prerequisite Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required. Minimum of 3 years of direct experience in a Registrar's Office or related services with a work background that demonstrates comprehensive understanding of all elements of a complex registrar operation. • Experience working with active duty service members, veterans, reservists, & eligible dependents at an institution of higher education as a School Certifying Official • Experience at a functional & operational level for the use of student information system(s). • Possess strong analytical & communication skills • High level of computer literacy along with mastery of the Microsoft Office suite of products • At least three years of experience utilizing VA-ONCE to certify benefits • Understanding of FERPA & Assistant educational initiatives for a university community.
