Department: VP - ACADEMIC AFFAIRS - 063010 Department Description: The CRN is a unique organization designed to help UC Davis and other regional employers recruit and retain valued employees. The network assists newly relocated professionals and their families assimilate into the surrounding region.
The Director is responsible for working in partnership with leadership at the Davis and Sacramento campuses to establish the network by leveraging relationships with the business community, and to gain buy-in and support throughout the development and establishment phases of the network.

Job Summary: Under general direction of the Assistant Vice Provost for Academic Affairs (AVP-AA), the Director of the Capital Resource Network (CRN) is responsible for managing the CRN, a unique organization designed to help UC Davis and other regional employers recruit and retain valued employees.
Assist newly relocated professionals and their families to assimilate into the surrounding region by addressing dual career support, family integration needs and cultural transitions. Ensure that the CRN is well-positioned to break the significant isolation often associated with moving to a new area by working with individuals and families and getting them engaged in their new community.
The Director will work with the AVP-AA, university stakeholders, community and business leaders and others to develop the network. Hire and train staff, market community partnerships, develop media relations and communications strategies, coordinate logistics and events, and more.
Responsible for overseeing the continued development and maintenance of the organization's active website, ensuring critical information is available to all stakeholders.
Physical Demands: Occasional lifting of materials related to event setup, cleanup and management.
Work Environment: Work occasional evenings and weekends to meet operational needs.
Occasional overnight travel.
Valid CA driver's license to travel to various locations to meet with regional business leaders, coordinate events and other travel related to the development and growth of the regional employment network.

Minimum Qualifications: Experience managing high level projects with multiple stakeholders.
Leadership and management experience in planning and administering programs.
Experience developing, marketing, promoting and executing a high-level strategic plan.
Communication experience to create standardized messaging for all aspects of the network, including written and web-based documents.
Experience researching/gathering data and providing synthesis and analysis of diverse data to prepare reports and proposals, and to assess alternative policies, recommendations, and change strategies.
Skills in setting goals and objectives, developing quantifiable measurements, motivating and managing others, and prioritizing workload to meet strict deadlines and budgets.
Interpersonal skills and political acumen to create and maintain professional collaborative working relationships including working with people from diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
Experience using a website management system.
Experience training, supervising, and motivating staff.
