Hadoop / Java Software Engineer - Data Science and Big Data Engineering - Associate

This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
Experience in the data ingestion space, using appropriate data storage technologies and ETL technologies and building out ingestion pipelines
Proficiency with Java, Oracle and Hadoop Platform (HDFS, Hive, HBase, Spark, Impala, Cassandra etc.) and Big Data via actual hands on clearly evidenced project experience
BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
Understanding and exposure to Cloud technologies and Architecture
Understanding of data modelling architecture and design across all systems including logical, physical and mapping models
Understanding of software skills such as business analysis, development, maintenance and software improvement
Experts in Data Reconnaissance & Architecture operate as the exploratory group for locating valuable information in data. They are responsible for identifying relevant data elements that exist within and outside of JPMorgan Chase & Co., run analyses to transform and enrich the data, and construct the usable data into an optimized query-able asset to be loaded into our analytics environment. They will also be responsible for owning the development and optimization of all Analytical Data assets in our analytic environment, including: conceptual design, logical, physical and semantic design, testing and user acceptance, performance tuning and optimization, and finally hand off to production support teams.
Assist in the design and build of data platform solutions using Big Data Technologies
Work with Architecture and Engineering team to contribute to Reference Architecture for Big Data/Distributed computing.
Service stakeholder requirements, prototype and iterate solutions to solve business problems using Big Data technologies

All internal moves will normally take place on the same grade and same salary. Salaries are reviewed annually in February. Exceptions to the rule regarding transfer on current salary may include a move between geographic locations.
