The Associate Vice President for New Business Development provides senior-level entrepreneurial vision and leadership to the nontraditional undergraduate and graduate programs of New England College. Responsibilities include marketing, sales, administrative, and recommendations for new program development. The position, which is highly external, requires regular contact with medium and large companies and organizations to secure B-to-B agreements for any range of academic program and delivery mode offered by the College. The AVP identifies new opportunities and recommends new program development as part of the overall academic program growth strategy for the School of Graduate and Professional Studies. The AVP is the lead player in new online projects and ensures effective and productive communication, cooperation, and achievement of defined goals. The AVP reports to the President and plays a key role in the implementation of the Strategic Plan.
The AVP’s duties include: • Developing, coordinating, and implementing an ambitious nontraditional undergraduate and graduate strategic enrollment plan for business-to-business agreements, including growth for special adult populations, such as military personnel and veterans, among others; • Coordinating the production of business intelligence and market research to support new academic programs/delivery formats, and assessing future demand in emerging markets; • Representing the College to other institutions and various constituencies to advance graduate and non-traditional undergraduate recruitment and enrollment efforts, including companies, corporations, government, and not-for-profit organizations to create customized programs designed for the needs of employers and labor market; • Achieving annual/quarterly/monthly enrollment and revenue goals; • Working with the Senior Vice President and CFO to develop business plans for new or re-designed programs, creating business case models for investment opportunities; • Developing a plan for scaling marketing and achieving goals of delivery of autonomous online graduate and undergraduate programs; • Recommending to the VPAA new programs, determining priorities based on market opportunities, and creating business and enrollment recruiting plans for implementation; • Working with VPAA to develop opportunities for new Competency-Based graduate and undergraduate, certificate, and micro-credential programs, identifying targeted student populations for such programs and developing and implementing associated business and marketing plans; • Working with Communications and Marketing staff to develop marketing, advertising, and communication plans for specific SGPS programs; • Other duties as assigned.
Experience • Minimum 7 to 10 years of progressive experience in higher education or business; • Digital and social media communication expertise; • Experience developing and assessing academic programs.
