The Executive Director leads and supports a multifaceted, interdisciplinary organization that cultivates and stewards relationships with industry leaders, organizations, businesses, governmental and non-governmental organizations to advance the university's academic, intellectual, and multi-disciplinary programs, interests, and engagements in the Los Angeles, Silicon Beach, and Playa Vista region. This position is responsible for promoting a positive institutional image and growing partnerships with identified stakeholders, thought leaders, and influencers. Reporting to Marketing, Communications, and External Relations and under the general guidance of and in close collaboration with the Executive Vice President/Provost and academic leaders, this position links and leverages the university's comprehensive array of academic specialties, imaginative and entrepreneurial faculty, and location in the world's creative capital with partners who elevate the university's renown and enhance the learning, creativity, personal growth, and vocational discernment of university students. The position directs budgets, personnel, and resources responsible for carrying out its essential functions and have a primary office location at LMU Playa Vista Campus.
Typically a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Master's degree highly preferred. The incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to keep abreast of discipline related trends and regulation/policy changes.
Minimum 7 years' experience in an organizational leadership role with a record of management and supervisory experience; ability to work effectively and independently with internal and external constituencies and with professionals of varied disciplines to accomplish goals.
Possesses exceptional verbal and written communications skills and compelling and impactful presentation abilities. Has the ability to motivate and inspire teams as well as colleagues, constituents, leaders, and governance boards.
A proven track record of driving innovation through successful management as a leader in a vibrant, technologically-sophisticated organization. Demonstrated experience with growing organizations committed to innovation with a demonstrated ability to build and lead teams, consult broadly, delegate appropriately, and successfully execute large, ambitious, fiscally responsible and entrepreneurial plans.
