JOBSUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Under the primary direction of theRegistrar, this position works with the Registrar to supervise andevaluate the day-to-day activities of the Registrar's Office. Summarily, this position has administrative decision-making authorityregarding business procedures/operations, student records, and data management;effective functioning of the Registrar's Office in the deployment of integratedstudent information system (BANNER); playing a major role in data preparation, migration,and resolving system issues; administers the student Veterans/militarypersonnel educational benefits and compliance programs. Also assists the Associate Vice Chancellor forStudent Affairs and Enrollment Services with special projects.
Supervises and evaluates the day-to-day activities of the Registrar's Office to include troubleshooting issues in order to efficiently meet the multiple competing demands of university constituencies.
Ensures business processes and daily Registrar operations are executed consistent with FEPRA and university policies and procedures.
Works in conjunction with the Registrar in drafting policies, updating of the university catalog, and interpreting the University of Tennessee System and Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC) guidelines.
Monitors academic record compliance with joint reciprocal agreements and UTHSC course-related memorandums of understanding. Serves as the Academic Common Market student enrollment coordinator for UTHSC.
Updates program and curriculum information in Banner and works with Banner consultants to train the Registrar's and university staff of policy updates, procedures, and technology.
Ensures the robust and secure operation of the student information management system (BANNER) and assists with new software implementations in coordination with the Registrar's office staff and implementation team.
Coordinates data preparation, migration, and resolve of system issues. Makes certain that operational changes and new functionalities are vetted through appropriate testing and quality assurance processes to minimize final production issues.
Leads and acts as liaison with IT and IR in providing statistical reporting including, but not limited to, census day reporting, state reporting, and federal reporting
Works collaboratively with the College of Medicine to update the rosters for the Associate of American Medical Colleges (AAMC).
Administers student Veterans/military personnel educational benefits and compliance programs; ensures compliance to the accurate reporting and implementation to federal and state programs and legislation; and oversees federal requirements from the US Department of Defense for Veterans' transfer credit and mandatory education plans with the Colleges and Admissions.
Provides administrative decision-making authority on procedures, student records, and data management; ensures compliance with university, state, and federal academic records and reporting mandates; collaborates with the Student Conduct Officer on conduct issues related to student records.
Assists the Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Enrollment Services with special projects.
