The Executive Director (ED) will report to the Vice Chancellor for Strategic Initiatives and Innovation, and serve as a member of the Vice Chancellor’s leadership team.
The ED will also maintain a strategic reporting relationship to the Vice President for Advancement and External Affairs at Syracuse University.
The ED is responsible for all aspects of development, fundraising, and donor stewardship, in support of the University’s robust military, veteran, and defense-related programs and initiatives, to include the Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF), the Office of Veteran and Military Affairs (OVMA).
The ED will lead and develop strategy on behalf of an advancement team responsible for development operations, extending to corporate/foundation partnerships, annual giving, individual philanthropy, new innovation projects/initiatives, military-connected alumni programs, and stewardship of the IVMF Advisory Board.
The ED will also manage a portfolio of major gift prospects.
