Organizational Area: Chief Operating Officer - Program Management Office
Posting Salary: commensurate with experience
Position Summary: The initial assignment is to the UCOP Financial Systems Initiative, a business transformation initiative that will drive technology and operational changes to yield sustainable long-term quality and service improvement to the Office of the President. The Program charter establishes goals to implement Oracle Cloud Budget and Forecasting, Oracle Cloud Financials, and related financial systems and reporting. In addition, it will implement accounting services as needed either directly or through another UC location, and will decommission existing financial services provided by UC Los Angeles.
Subsequent assignments will be based on then-current institutional priorities in support of administrative and operational efficiencies.
The Program Director will report directly to the Associate Vice President, Operational Services, and be a key member of the program management team. Collaborating with project teams, project governance committees, and executive leadership, the Program Director will be responsible for successful planning and execution of individual initiatives and for appropriate consultation with stakeholder communities.

Collaborate with UCOP and/or campus leadership to develop and execute implementation strategies, timelines, and project plans to support timely, effective and efficient implementation of the program solutions.
Job Requirements Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 10 years of experience managing an Information technology organization or complex business transformation programs. Required
Knowledge/Skills: Advanced relationship building, strategic thinking, and political acumen skills.
Knowledge of the organizational environment of higher education and large research universities to understand campus priorities, issues, motivations, and constraints.
Ability to influence the thinking of, or gain acceptance from, others involving project work and initiatives.
Experienced in leading change management activities and managing their impact across multiple organizations across division, college or institutional boundaries.
Demonstrated leadership experience in an executive position.
Thorough knowledge of technical concepts and basic operating principles of data communications, computer hardware, vendor IT products, and software.
Demonstrated experience with senior management planning and budgeting.
Ability to understand the process involved to adapt, integrate, and modify existing programs or vendor-supplied products for use within a large and complex technical environment.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively present technical topics to large groups and senior management with potentially varied levels of technical sophistication.
Knowledge of policies and procedures and ability to determine a course of action based on these guidelines.
Thorough knowledge of supervisory and leadership techniques in managing consulting services and/or technical staff.
Comprehensive knowledge of subject area and broad knowledge of all IT areas sufficient for strategic planning, technology assessment and direction. Required
