Provide technical support and administration of the learning management system (Canvas) and other instructional technologies. Collaborate with team members to provide information and training relating to the LMS and instructional technology.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administration of campus-wide learning management system (Canvas). This includes:
monitoring, testing and communicating technical and functional upgrades
investigating and adding additional features (outcomes, e-portfolio, open content repository, analytics, and more);
Providing all levels of faculty and Student support
Escalating and resolving technical issues
Collaborate with IT on data integration issues
Managing any manual data uploads
Document support issues, best practices, etc.
Evaluate instructional technologies and applications which may extend or integrate with the Learning Management system, such as Turnitin.
Assists with providing regular reports on system usage. Analyzes and provides recommendations on areas of concern toward improvement.
Collaborate with team members to provide information and training relating to the LMS and instructional technology; may include creating multimedia visual aids, video demonstrations, and e-learning modules.
Assist in research studies which evaluate the use of technologies and their impact on student learning outcomes at the University.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned, by the Technical Services Manager
A bachelor's degree is required; preferably in computer science, instructional technology, or related degree.
3 years of experience with a learning management software required, preferably Canvas.
Knowledge of Crystal reports a plus.
Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills required. Attention to detail a must. Must be well organized and self-motivated with the ability to operate independently with minimum direction on a daily basis as well as collaboratively and collegially with faculty and staff.
