Manage day-to-day GCA operations and serve as the acting director in the absence of the Executive Director.
Manage day-to-day operations for GCA; lead post award functions, support researchers in the management of grants and contracts sponsored by government and industry, and the administration of grant awards within the Banner Finance system; support function for cash management, cost analysis, and contracting units within GCA; serve as the acting director in the absence of the executive director.
Minimum Experience / Education:
Master’s degree in an appropriate specialization: Accounting, Finance or a Business related field.
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
Ten (10) years of experience in Research Administration with at least eight (8) of those years in post-award management of sponsored projects at an academic institution; management experience in research administration with capacity to provide leadership for staff and the program.
Experience in directly supervising full-time professional employees.
Must have advanced experience in financial systems.
Demonstrated ability to write clearly and concisely.
Experience in finance/accounting.
Must have the ability to read, understand, interpret, and apply Federal, State and University law/policy to a variety of situations when making complex decisions.
Exemplary communication skills, both written and verbal.
Indepth understanding of compliance issues and understanding of application of federal and state regulations and specific guidelines from sponsors for allowable spending of restricted funds. Experience with grant and contract policies of major federal, state and private sponsors and knowledge of federal regulations (e.g. OMB circulars, Federal Acquisition Regulations, Code of Federal Regulations, Cost Accounting Standards, etc.)
Analytical (numeric) and high degree of problem solving skills with the ability to multi-task.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet time-sensitive deadlines.
Proficient in use of sponsor-specific online systems, such as Fastlane, NIH eCommons, DOD systems etc.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).
